Meaning of 'The Noble Soul Temple'
Every human being and every being does not recognize that it has a noble soul. Therefore, we suffer from worldly desires.

The Noble Soul Temple recognizes "We intrinsically all have noble souls."

One of the meanings of "Koke" is to depend upon or rely upon.

Shakamuni Buddha told us, "One must depend on oneself", but because most people are weak,. they need a temporary place of refuge.

Therefore Kokeji (The Noble Soul Temple) is that refuge.



The main Statue is Sho-Kannon.
Sho-Kannon is the symbol of Love, Grace.
'Kokeji' The Noble Soul Temple, extends love and grace.



Japanese Buddhist temples contain the character of "mountain" in its name.
This temple's mountain name is Garyo-zan.
Garyo means a hidden dragon biding one's time waiting to use its power, but in the meantime must study and learn. Therefore, Garyo-zan' means to study and learn while biding ones time waiting for the moment to unleash ones power.

Buddhist temples also have a house name.
This temple's house name is 'Shugaku-in".
Shugaku is to study wisdom. Therefore, Shugakuin means a house that studies wisdom.

'Kokeji' The Noble Soul Temple is the temple to study wisdom and learn.




Kokeji 'The Noble Soul Temple' is in Kakamigahara-city Gifu pref. Japan.
Kakamigahara-city is in the northernmost part of the Nobi-plain.
Thus the name, Kokeji 'The Noble Soul Temple', the country temple of the hills.



Concept

A temple is a sanctuary, and refuge.

The chief priest is the caretaker of the temple.

A priest is someone who creates connections between people, a friend to all in all situations, and a counselor and adviser when necessary.
